Dance with Me

Come dance with me the dance of life
that lasts beyond all time.
And let me gaze into you eyes
that envelop me in thine.
And brush my cheek with fingertips
that’s built a house so firm,
And hold my waist with solid hand
as we whirl and whirl and whirl--
Under a starlit sky,
beside a placid sea.
And though the moon should drown itself,
and the mountains crumble underneath,
I’ll smile at you and we should dance,
The Creator, you, and me—

Angie's Song

Shall I meet Thee in the morning—
At Autumn’s sun’s first kiss?
While the dew is on the vineyard,
With dawn’s warmth upon my breast—

Shall I meet Thee at the noonday—
While Winter frosts the fields?
Though Boreas’s voice surrounds me,
I shall hear the newborn child—

Or, should I meet Thee in the spring time—
When birds echo th’ close of day?
When rains bring forth new foliage
And my gaze lifts far away—

Morning, noon, or evening—
I shall meet Thee nonetheless—
Brighter, sharper, love doth shimmer,
We shall meet in warm caress.

“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.”
Psalm 63:3&4

Cinderella after Midnight

Cinderella after midnight
All alone upon the curb.
Where’s your carriage?
Where’s your horses?
Pumpkin, rats is all you have.
Cinderella after midnight,
What’s a princess s’posed to do?

In the castle good Prince Charming
Thought the night was so superb.
Where’s your lady?
Why at midnight?
All that’s left is one glass shoe.

Cinderella and Prince Charming
Feel like they are worlds apart.
But the darkness hides the knowledge
Of how close they really are.
Cinderella after midnight
Lift your eyes toward rosy Dawn,
Where the light reveals Prince Charming
Waking troops to search for you.
